The Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture, the Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and theItalian Cultural Institute in Barcelona have launched the third edition of the Barcelona Prize (call for applicationshere ), a residency program dedicated to the themes of sustainable design and aimed at two young designers specializing in the field, in collaboration with IED Barcelona (European Institute of Design).
The initiative is reserved for young Italian designers born after December 31, 1988, with adequate knowledge of English and preferably also Spanish.
The two winners, selected by a Commission, will be offered the opportunity to spend a six-month period in Barcelona (February-July 2024) to professionally deepen their research in the field of design-related sustainability. During the residency, the two selected artists will participate in cultural initiatives organized by the Italian Cultural Institute of Barcelona and IED Barcelona and will have the opportunity to present their research to the public during or at the end of the residency.
