An anthological exhibition in Milan dedicated to Sandro De Alexandris fifty years after his first Milan exhibition

Fifty years after his first Milan exhibition, Sandro De Alexandris is featured in an anthological exhibition held at the 10 A.M.ART Gallery in Milan.

Gallery 10 A.M.ART, in its new location at Corso San Gottardo 5 in Milan, offers the public a revisiting of Sandro De Alexandris’s work: from February 14 to April 11, 2019, fifty years after the artist’s first Milanese exhibition, the gallery is hosting an anthological exhibition entitled 1964 | 2018.

Curated by Alberto Zanchetta, the exhibition consists of an itinerary spanning more than fifty years, the foundations of which hark back to that creative climate of the neo-avant-gardes of the early 1960s, which questioned the linguistic principles of poetry and painting.

Starting with some rare works from 1964, from a reflection on the meaning of painting we come to the reflection that develops through the questioning of chromatic expansions, effusion of light, revelations of inner space-time, privileged locus of the making of the work.
The folded and overlapping surfaces, the TS and Reliefs crossed by lines of light that define their form, the t/n, works in which a radical lowering of perception is realized, concretize the research that marked the 1960s and 1970s. In the 1980s, with the Superimpositions, fragments of painting organized to define the process through which painting itself is formed, a path opens up where color is substance extended to traverse the plots of being. A privileged place that from the 1990s to the present becomes inner light, a revelation of its flow.
