This is thanks to Narratè, an unprecedented food design publishing format, born in Milan in 2015 from an idea of architect Adriano Giannini with the aim of uniting two age-old traditions (and which often travel in company), namely infusion and reading. These are short stories connected to a tea filter/tea whose infusion time coincides with the reading time, 5 minutes.

And now the protagonist of one of these stories is Frida Kahlo herself. In fact, along with the birth of its fourth publishing line, the “Narratherapy Philosophical Herbal Teas,” Narratè is simultaneously launching A Tea with Frida Kahlo, and doing so on the occasion of the exhibition Frida Kahlo. The Chaos Within, which takes place in Milan from October 10, 2020 at the Fabbrica del Vapore.

Frida Kahlo’s blend is a fragrant swirl of tropical fruits of which her native Mexico is a rich producer: Papaya, Lime, Pineapple, Guava. Not infrequently the lush vegetation of the tropics finds a place in his most famous works. The tea base, black as its eyes, and Agave, distilled to make tequila, complete a blend with a fresh taste and a wide range of exotic scents. To top it off, the producers wanted to evoke Frida’s passion with the addition of chili peppers. The story that accompanies the tea is by journalist and writer Valeria Arnaldi, curator of contemporary art exhibitions in Italy and abroad: she has collaborated with the European Commission, Unar-Presidenza del Consiglio, Regione Lazio, Provincia di Roma, Roma Capitale, and has published books of poetry, novels and essays, including abroad.

With this new title, the total production of the three “classic” publishing lines reaches twenty, to which must be added the twelve titles of the zodiaci essentiae series and the six of the Tisane Filosofiche. A total of thirty-eight Narratè with unpublished stories and blends (formulated ad hoc) produced in just five years of the life of the Narrafood srl publishing house. Narratè products are brought to the public by more than 150 retailers, mostly independent bookstores, scattered throughout Italy.
