An exhibition tracing the history of Queen through Peter Hince's shots makes a stop in Rimini

Stopping at the Fellini Museum in Rimini is the exhibition "Queen Unseen - Peter Hince." October 3 through November 30, 2023.

From Oct. 3 to Nov. 30, 2023, the Fellini Museum, in the Isotta Wing of Rimini’s Castel Sismondo, presents Queen Unseen - Peter Hince, the event exhibition that traces the history of Queen and Freddie Mercury through the shots of Peter Hince, the band’s historic road crew and Freddie Mercury’s personal assistant. Born in England in 1955, Hince has worked for such great artists as Mick Ronson, Lou Reed, Eno, Supertramp, George Benson and many others. He began taking photographs of Queen beginning in 1976, when they had already reached the height of their worldwide success continuing until 1986, with an interlude of an additional two years in which he would portray only Mercury. During his years with Queen, Hince cultivated a passion for photography, managing to take intimate and candid photos of the band in the recording studio, during the filming of video clips, tour rehearsals and, on rare occasions, even during live shows. He also took some portraits of the band that have become iconic.

In addition to Hince’s images, the rich personal collection of memorabilia, clothing, accessories, musical instruments, records and documents, all original, of Niccolò Chimenti, one of Europe’s leading collectors of the Queen universe, will also be on display: Freddie Mercury’s microphone stand used in his last concert, an autographed guitar by Brian May, an autographed cymbal and drum sticks by Roger Taylor, Freddie’s suspenders, one of the costumes used for the Radio Gaga video, and much more stand out.

The exhibit aims to reveal some previously unseen sides of the iconic band that made rock history

The exhibition is completed by the screening of mostly very rare videos.

The Rimini exhibition is organized by Rome-based Blu&Blu Network and Primafila Magazine, under the patronage of the City of Rimini.

Hours: Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Closed on non-holiday Mondays.
