Coming to Pirelli HangarBicocca the first major Italian solo exhibition of Leonor Antunes

Pirelli HangarBicocca in Milan will host Leonor Antunes' first major Italian solo exhibition in a few days.

At Pirelli HangarBicocca in Milan, the first major exhibition in Italy dedicated to Leonor Antunes (Lisbon, 1972) will be on view to the public from Sept. 14, 2018 to Jan. 13, 2019.

"The Last Days in Galliate," the title of the retrospective, consists of works, including many new ones, that create a dialogue with the structural elements of the space and with natural light, and is conceived as a complex site-specific installation.

In the sculptural works, the artist reinterprets the history of art, design and architecture of the 20th century, and especially the tradition of Modernism. He uses natural and organic materials on which the signs of the passage of time are visible, such as rope, wood, leather, brass, rubber and cork, worked with artisanal techniques.

The exhibition is curated by Roberta Tenconi.
