Figures in Balance. Ceramics and papers: Guido De Zan's exhibition in Milan.

From March 8 to 29, 2019, Milan's Fatto ad Arte Gallery is hosting Guido De Zan's exhibition entitled Figures in Balance.

Milan ’s Fatto ad Arte Gallery presents the work of Guido De Zan from March 8 to March 29, 2019, with the exhibition Figure in Balance. Ceramics and Papers. The exhibition includes works in stoneware, porcelain and graphics. In fact, the Milanese artist has centered his conceptual and formal research on ceramics.

De Zan writes, “I read that Braque claimed that every artist has the human figure as the end of his work. In much of my work the figure is the protagonist, in the vases, sculptures, and graphics.Alternatively, it is the landscapes, especially urban, so individual houses, agglomerations that form villages and towns.I am reminded of the first drawings of children representing the people closest to them and their houses. These figures and houses accompany us throughout our lives and always remain part of our expression. My vases often have anthropomorphic shapes, so a front and back, curved lines to remind us of the fminine figure and more angular shapes to depict the masculine. In contrast, my small sculptures, often little theaters, contain characters with more realistic but still stylized forms.Others are solo figures, silhouettes that echo the characteristics of the characters in the little theaters. Often these characters live in couples, families or communities in order to meet others and tell their stories.”
