Photographs and models of the restored Procuratie Vecchie on display in Milan

On display until March 31, 2023 at Casabellalaboratorio in Milan are photographs and models of the Procuratie Vecchie in St. Mark's Square in Venice restored thanks to David Chipperfield Architects.

Until March 31, 2023, the exhibition The Procuratie Vecchie in St. Mark’s Square can be visited at Casabellalaboratorio in Milan, the aim of which is to provide a closer look at the restoration work entrusted to David Chipperfield Architects for the Procuratie Vecchie in St. Mark’s Square, the headquarters of Assicurazioni Generali and home of The Human Safety Net Foundation.

On display are photographs by Venetian photographer Alessandra Chemollo and models of the work created for Assicurazioni Generali by David Chipperfield Architects.

The Procuratie Vecchie were reopened to the public last spring after five hundred years, following a five-year renovation by David Chipperfield Architects. An intervention that restored integrity to the structure through the restoration of the architectural work as a whole and in particular the elements that had deteriorated or been compromised. The project reunified the interiors of the Procuratie Vecchie and recovered original Venetian materials and traditional workmanship, involving specialized companies and local artisans.

The exhibition can be visited Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. by buzzing/addressing the office of David Chipperfield Architects or via media@davidchipperfield.it
