Peace of Art, online charity auction in support of Ukraine: artists united against war

From April 1-10, 2022, the Instagram page @putinpeace launches the Peace of Art online charity auction, in partnership with Catawiki. All proceeds will be donated to Cesvi Foundation.

The Putinpeace Instagram page, which brings together artworks from around the world against the Russian invasion of Ukraine and in support of the Ukrainian cause, is launching the Peace of Artonline charity auction from April 1 to 10, 2022, in collaboration with Catawiki, to benefit Cesvi Foundation, a humanitarian organization committed toassisting refugees in border areas.

Since the start of the war, many artists, photographers, and art directors have joined the @putinpeace | artists united against war project; among them are Pavlo Makov (the Ukrainian artist who will represent the National Pavilion at the Venice Biennale), Sergiy Zhadan, Oliviero Toscani, Jean-Charles De Castelbajac, TvBoy, Goldschmied & Chiari, Giorgio Galimberti, Lady Tarin, Orticanoodles, Giuseppe Veneziano, Ludovica Bastianini, Merle Goll, but the list is constantly being updated.

The founders of Putinpeace were Fabrizio Spucches (Catania,1987), Andreana Ferri (Livorno, 1992) and Umberto Cofini(Padua, 1993), who supported the social project with concrete actions: Spucches undertook a more than two-week journey to war zones, meeting people, refugees, humanitarian associations, volunteers, and collecting testimonies in reception centers and on fleeing vehicles, offering help and support where possible. With the material collected, he shared via the @putinpeace page a daily narrative. The same for Umberto Cofini, who undertook the journey with Francesco Perruccio.

The entire proceeds from the Peace of Art auction will be donated to Cesvi Foundation, which is present in Hungary in Záhony and in Romania in Sighet to support refugees through shelter at the borders, offering safe spaces in which to provide protection, essential services, legal assistance, rest and play, especially for mothers, children, the elderly and people with disabilities. In addition, in collaboration with Alliance2015’s European partners, it continues to be present in Ukraine to assist displaced people by providing them with humanitarian aid and medical kits.
