Washington: Aretha Franklin's portrait displayed at the National Portrait Gallery

To honor Aretha Franklin, who passed away in recent days, the National Portrait Gallery in Washington is exhibiting her portrait by artist Milton Glaser, the creator of the famous “I♥NY” T-shirt.
Made in Glaser’s typical style, presenting itself as a kaleidoscope of colors and geometric shapes that evoke the singer’s energy, the portrait was made in 1968, the same year the gallery opened its doors.

The portrait will remain on display at the U.S. gallery until Aug. 22.
