Poland, mural provides shelter from cold for birds

In Gdynia, Poland, a large mural has been created on the façade of a school that provides shelter from the cold for baby birds.

Art and nature come together in a large mural: in the Polish town of Gdynia, Malgorzata Gurowska and Joanna Ruszczyk have created a giant public artwork on the exterior facade of an elementary school.

Its uniqueness lies in the fact that as many as twelve birdhouses have been installed on the painted tree to provide shelter from the cold for the little birds. Thus, an urban work dedicated to the relationship between man and nature.

The mural was created in cooperation with the Faculty of Biology of the University of Gdansk and is an invitation to everyone, and especially to school students, to respect the environment, nature and animals.

The two artists created their work as part of Traffic Design Biennale for Design & Urban Art.
