A center entirely dedicated to urban art, in Bologna, a stone’s throw from Piazza del Nettuno: it is called FluArt and is a new reality born under the two towers. The only urban art center in the city, it has opened in a space on Via Monte Grappa: FluArt is a center equipped with an exhibition space, refreshment area, coworking space, and specialized bookstore.

FluArt is a multipurpose space on contemporary art driven by a special interest in underground forms of expression ranging from street art to graffiti to comics. The room displays works on canvas by the most important names in street art: Vhils, Cope2, Seen, Pasquini, Borondo, Mr. Brainwash and many others. The space makes itself available to citizens, artists and institutions for the organization of exhibitions, meetings, conferences and presentations, as well as a series of private events.

FluArt’s concept is to open up to a diverse and art-loving public, which can count on an original and curated environment. The project, recognized by the Municipality of Bologna for quality and public interest, is the brainchild of Francesca Carafa and Fabrizio Bortolini, who are eager to create an urban art center “because,” they explain, “we see it as a lively, dynamic, evolving meeting place; a place of creation, inclusive, beyond age groups and different backgrounds. An international, sustainable and responsive to change, open to a curious and passionate public, available to all actors in the urban scene.” With its proposal of exploration and discovery through a plurality of expressions, FluArt is said to be able to develop and propose new synergies with the city’s cultural system by highlighting emerging techniques, giving ample space to young people and their creativity.
