Interactive exhibition on illusionism arrives in Modena

Coming to Modena, May 13 through Sept. 30, 2022, is the interactive exhibit that investigates the mechanisms of reality perception to show that what we perceive is often very different from how it really is.

From May 13 to Sept. 30, 2022, the Nuovo Diurno in Piazza Mazzini and the Open Laboratory in Modena will host aninteractive exhibition that aims to investigate the mechanisms of perception of reality. Titled Illusion: nothing is as it seems, the exhibition examines how perception sustains the way we see, feel, think and understand the world, witnessing how what we perceive is often very different from reality instead. Can we trust our senses? And does technology make reality clearer or contribute to confusing it with fiction?

Produced by the Science Gallery of Ireland and Trinity College Dublin with OpificioInnova, the event, which has already been presented in Sardinia, is part of the initiatives of Modena Unesco Creative City for Media Arts.

It will be a look inside the human mind through the exploration of the mechanisms of deception, The multimedia experience will combine magic and psychology, optical illusions and scientific reasoning. The exhibits will give visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in a world that always turns out to be different from what their eyes had at first perceived, discovering that the human mind is easily deceived.

Hours: New Daytime, daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Workshop open, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 6 p.m.
