An exhibition coming to Rome to tell the story of the Wurts collection and international collecting


Palazzo Venezia and Gallerie Sacconi in Rome will host from December 7, 2017 to March 4, 2018 the exhibition Voglia d'Italia. International Collecting in the Rome of the Vittoriano.

From December 7, 2017 to March 4, 2018, the exhibition"Want of Italy. International Collecting in the Rome of the Vittoriano."

The exhibition, divided between Palazzo Venezia and Gallerie Sacconi, aims to present to the public the collection of works of art that U.S. couple George Washington Wurts and Henriette Tower collected between the 19th and 20th centuries and then donated to the Palazzo Venezia museum.

The dynamics of collecting, particularly Anglo-American collecting, and the international market will be shown, and how the Wurts collection became deeply linked to Italy.

Palazzo Venezia will be dedicated to displaying the most significant works from the Wurts collection, while in the Sacconi Galleries the world of the international market will be told through works from Italian and foreign museums and private collections.

The exhibition is curated by Emanuele Pellegrini in collaboration with a high-profile scientific committee, and is promoted and organized by the Polo Museale del Lazio. Communication is curated by Civita Mostre.

Tickets: Single ticket valid 7 days for the two sections of the exhibition, Palazzo Venezia and Vittoriano panoramic elevator: full price 10 euros, reduced 5 euros.
