An exhibition dedicated to Italian neo-realism is expected in New York.


From Sept. 6 to Dec. 8, 2018, New York is hosting a photography exhibition dedicated to Italian neo-realism. Numerous photographers are featured in the exhibition.

"NeoRealism: The New Image in Italy, 1932 - 1960" is the exhibition that at New York University’s Grey Art Gallery will be mounted to present the crucial role of photography in Italian Neo-realism.

From September 6 to December 8, 2018, visitors will be able to admire 180 shots by sixty Italian artists in large exhibition spaces: images that start from realism in the Fascist era to the threshold of the economic boom.

Among the artists featured are Luciano Morpurgo, Giacomo Pozzi-Bellini, Pasquale De Antonis, Tullio Farabola, Aldo Beltrame, Giuseppe Bruno, Mario Carbone, Roberto Spampinato, Franco Pinna, Ando Gilardi, Renzo Chini, Nino Migliori, Enzo Sellerio, Arturo Zavattini, Carlo Cisventi, Mario Dondero, Federico Patellani, Caio Garrubba, Cecilia Mangini, Tino Petrelli, Lamberti Sorrentino, Fulvio Roiter, Marisa Rastellini, Antonio and Nicola Sansone, Tranquillo Casiraghi, Pietro Donzelli, Paolo Monti, Mario Giacomelli, Mario Ingrosso, Ugo Zovetti, Nino De Pietro, Cesare Colombo, Alfredo Camisa, Mario Cattaneo, and Stefano Robino.

Also on view will be original magazine publications, photo books, catalogs, posters, as well as excerpts from films directed by Vittorio De Sica, Roberto Rossellini and Luchino Visconti.

The photo exhibition is curated by Enrica Viganò and is organized by ADMIRA of Milan.
