Bottegantica opens virtual exhibition featuring five promising artists from Brera Academy

An exhibition bringing five promising Brera Academy students online: this is the proposal of Milan's Bottegantica gallery.

It is titled Luci da Brera (Lights from Brera ), the virtual exhibition that Milan ’s Bottegantica gallery is making available to the public from today, Nov. 19, until Dec. 3, 2020, on the viewing room of its website, www.bottegantica.com. The exhibition, curated by Valerio Mazzetti Rossi and Enzo Savoia, showcases the works of five students of the Painting Chair held by Ignazio Gadaleta at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, and groups them within an exhibition/manifesto in order to introduce them to the general public.

The five artists are Yuki Aoki (1974, Japan), Erika Bellanca (1992, Italy), Elias Bertoldo (1994, Italy), Saeed Naderi(1981, Iran) and Arjan Shehaj (1989, Albania). The works contemplate different forms of expression that have at their center the theme of light and its chromatic derivations and that activate the persistence of painting, as an inexhaustible and inexhaustible language. The five artists, from different countries around the world, were selected for their ability to dialogue through a universal language dictated by wordlessness and emotional and sensitive understanding. Also enriching the exhibition will be interviews and in-depth content.

With this exhibition, Bottegantica continues the modern and contemporary workshop, Lab contemporary, which started in 2018 with the exhibition Ottocento Contemporaneo. Two Generations Compared and continued with the exhibition Fresh Kiss. Pascale Marthine Tayou in collaboration with the Continua Gallery in San Gimignano (April 2018).

“Bottegantica,” says founder Enzo Savoia, “believes strongly in the promotion of art and new artists, and does so even more at this time by allowing an exhibition, which was to be open to the public, to be visited online. Through this exhibition we want to give our support to culture and young artists, promoting the light of their talent globally, because it is also from art, knowledge and beauty that the rebirth of a country passes.”

“Being authentic and questioning the present: these are the actions,” says Ignazio Gadaleta, “ that actualize painting and characterize the lucidly self-disciplinary exercises of these young artists.”
