The exhibition Carlo Bononi. The Last Dreamer of the Ferrara Workshop, the first monographic exhibition dedicated to one of the most important Emilian painters active between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, Carlo Bononi (Ferrara, 1569 - 1632), an original painter whose art offered suggestions to artists such as Guido Reni and Guercino and whose name has often been compared to that of Tintoretto and Caravaggio. The exhibition that opened at the Palazzo dei Diamanti, Ferrara (and will run until January 7, 2018) is a unique opportunity to delve into the figure of this important and original artist.

In this brief article we provide a selection of six works featured in the exhibition (out of the approximately fifty that make up the show), reminding that the public can go to Palazzo dei Diamanti to see them live every day from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (openings also on November 1, December 8, 25 and 26, January 1 and 6, and special evening openings until 10 p.m:30 on Oct. 31 and until 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 31) with full ticket 11 euros and reduced 9 euros (audio guide included), free for children under six, disabled with accompanying persons, journalists, tour guides, ICOM memtri and uniformed military personnel.
