From September 19 to October 9, 2026, the Pietro and Alberto Rossini Foundation presents *To take my wife to school and run errands*, a solo exhibition by Margherita Moscardini curated by Francesca Guerisoli. The opening is scheduled for Saturday, September 19, at 6:00 p.m. at the Rossini Art Site in Briosco, in the province of Monza and Brianza. The project, conceived for the James Wines Pavilion, takes its starting point from the recent acquisition of *THE SCHOOL* (2024), a new work that has entered the Foundation’s collection and serves as the centerpiece of the exhibition.
The relationship between Moscardini and the Pietro and Alberto Rossini Foundation dates back more than ten years. Over time, the institution has supported the artist’s practice through acquisitions, commissions, and support for various internationally significant exhibition projects. This relationship has developed around a shared focus on artistic practices capable of questioning the present by connecting art, public space, law, and social transformation.
The exhibition brings together a constellation of works spanning different phases of Moscardini’s artistic exploration. Alongside THE SCHOOL, the exhibition features works already in the Foundation’s collection as well as new pieces by the artist, creating a narrative that highlights the continuity of her practice.
Moscardini’s practice takes its starting point in real places, historical events, and existing architecture, analyzed through extended periods of study and fieldwork. The works are not limited to documenting events and territories; rather, they transform specific cases into opportunities for reflection on issues such as citizenship, law, borders, belonging, and ways of living. Architecture, cartography, artifacts, and landscapes become tools for making the political and cultural structures that organize the experience of space legible.
In this context, the transparent architecture of the James Wines Pavilion also plays a role in the project. Conceived as a transitional space between interior and exterior, the pavilion guides the viewer’s interpretation of the works through an exhibition organized as a succession of autonomous episodes. Each work thus retains its own narrative dimension, while simultaneously contributing to the overall interpretation of the artist’s body of work.
The exhibition also reaffirms the Foundation’s support for long-term artistic projects through collecting, production, and cultural promotion. The Foundation’s relationship with Moscardini has also accompanied several international stages of her artistic practice, culminating in support for the artist’s participation in the 13th Berlin Biennale in 2025. The exhibition in Briosco continues this dialogue, bringing the relationships between space, history, and collective responsibility back to the center of the collection and the exhibition space.
