Milan, at A arte Invernizzi galleries an exhibition with collages, works on paper and small formats

Until Feb. 11, 2021, Milan's A arte Invernizzi Gallery is offering the exhibition 'On the Margin': exhibiting works on paper and in small format.

Galleria A arte Invernizzi is hosting, until February 11, 2021, the exhibition Sul margine in which collages, works on paper, projects and small sculptures made between 1948 and 2020 by artists with whom the gallery collaborates are presented. Following the exhibition Da vicino, presented in 2016, which focused on the aspects of proximity and intimacy of vision, the reflection on small-format works continues on this occasion by emphasizing another crucial aspect, namely that of their liminal, extreme corporeality and intensity. The exhibition intends to propose an experience of the encounter with the work as an intimate and close happening, taking us to the edge of the sensible, to gaze beyond the border of our knowing.

The exhibition features works by Rodolfo Aricò, Gianni Asdrubali, Francesco Candeloro, Nicola Carrino, Alan Charlton, Carlo Ciussi, Gianni Colombo, Dadamaino, Philippe Decreuzat, Riccardo De Marchi, Piero Dorazio, Lesley Foxcroft, Igino Legnaghi, François Morellet, Mario Nigro, Pino Pinelli, Bruno Querci, Ulrich Rückriem, Angelo Savelli, Salvatore Scarpitta, Nelio Sonego, Mauro Staccioli, Niele Toroni, David Tremlett, Günter Umberg, Grazia Varisco, Elisabeth Vary, Michel Verjux, Rudi Wach.

“An ever-changing physicality of the image as a living body,” explains curator Francesca Pola, “not only in its materiality but also in its articulation and trajectories of meaning. In the becoming of a reality that is all encompassing, felt and sentient, the work catches us on the margin between the experienced and the unknown, sensitizing the limit of knowing and the becoming of the living as mutually inseparable entities: it focuses on existing that renews itself. We thus find ourselves among these images that are like places of the mind: a constellation of monads placed on the ridge that separates life from death, the tension to knowledge from the truth of an unattainable absolute, capable of intuiting, at the threshold of existence, the correspondence between individual and cosmos.”

A bilingual catalog will be published on the occasion of the exhibition with an introductory text by Francesca Pola, contributions by Giuseppe Cristian Bonanomi, Angela Faravelli, Daria Ghirardini, and Davide Mogetta, and reproductions of the works on display.

The exhibition is open until Feb. 11.
