Nai Caprili's dreamlike universe on display in Siena

From Sept. 24 to Oct. 14, 20222, Beaux Art Gallery in Siena presents the solo exhibition of artist Nai Caprili entitled Sottosopra. The artist invites the public to discover a dreamlike universe.

The Beaux Art Gallery in Siena welcomes from September 24 to October 14, 2022 the exhibition Sottosopra dedicated to the works of Tuscan artist Natalia Caprili, known as Nai.

Illustrator, painter, musician, Natalia Caprili invites the public to discover a dreamlike universe made of words, sounds, colors where to get lost and then find oneself.

Between fairy tale and magic, Sottosopra is a hymn to all that is imaginative in our world, an invitation to read reality with different eyes to recover amazement as the key to reading everyday life. Fairy tale, music, drawing become powerful tools. The exhibition aims to offer the visitor the opportunity to become a child again, immersing himself in a suspended time where everything is possible.

Natalia Caprili, grew up in Tuscany among the brushes of her father, a naive painter, and soon began drawing. After graduating in Philosophy from Pisa in 2000, she continued her practical and theoretical research studies in Women’s History at the University of Paris VIII. During her stay in Paris, she worked as a painter-decorator and began to consider turning her passion into a profession.

She returned to Italy in 2005 and helped found the music group I Forasteri. In 2015 she gives birth to the trio Nai et les hommes du monde. In 2014 he creates the Figure Art show Il Circo Nai e Max with Max Jurcev, musician and composer. He has been exhibiting in France and Italy since 2007, and in Carré d’artistes galleries since 2012. “On stage or in her studio, Natalia Caprili loves to surprise the viewer. She constructs her works as if for a staging, arranging her actors as if in a performance, creating their costumes and all the decorations. The red curtain opens like a window on her imagination, giving a glimpse of a dreamlike universe suspended between reality and the imaginary, inhabited by acrobats, tightrope walkers, clowns and musicians,” they wrote about her at theCarré D’Artistes Expo internationale in Lourmarin in July 2014.
