Rovereto showcases 300 works by one hundred artists from Fondazione Caritro's art collection

Palazzo Del Bene in Rovereto is showcasing three hundred works by one hundred artists, including paintings, sculptures, sketches and maps, from the Fondazione Caritro art collection until May 2, 2024.

Until May 2, 2024, Palazzo Del Bene in Rovereto is showcasing three hundred works by one hundred artists, including paintings, sculptures, sketches and maps, from the Fondazione Caritro art collection, as part of Display, a Fondazione Caritro project designed precisely with the aim of enhancing its rich artistic heritage, which is not usually accessible.

Display is a term imbued with the ambiguous nuance that often marks Anglo-Saxon words: in fact, it simultaneously embraces the concept of “exhibition” and “screen.” And indeed, the project is intended to be both the exhibition presentation of the Fondazione Caritro’s Art Collection and the digital tool that allows anyone to access it.

Display is configured as a path articulated in three closely connected moments. The first, Reflection, is presented as a narrative in numbers of the Collection, offering a quantitative overview of the works it contains. The second,Immersion, proposes an interface for the digital exploration of the Collection itself, allowing for an immersive experience of discovery and insight. The third, Creation, offers a dynamic space in which each visitor has the opportunity to construct, even physically, his or her own selection of works, thus becoming the creator of his or her own artistic experience.

Display is intended to be an experimental project, but also a profound reflection on accessibility as a fundamental strategy for art appreciation. It aims to provide the necessary tools for an understanding of the size, complexity and richness of Fondazione Caritro’s Art Collection.

But even more significantly, Display aims to be a vast archive of digitized and indexed works that now allows complete and unrestricted access to the Collection itself, inviting every individual to interpret and explore it, thus generating an infinity of new narratives and meanings.
