New domus discovered in Pompeii: it is the Domus of the Dolphins

These days a new domus has been discovered in the Pompeii Archaeological Park: it is the Domus of the Dolphins, so named because of the presence in the wall decorations of pairs of dolphins.

This building is located just opposite the House of the Silver Wedding in Regio V and is a luxurious and refined domus.

The frescoes found so far have shown bright colors and the depiction of various animals, such as a peacock, a parrot, a partridge, deer, fantastic animals, as well as pairs of dolphins.

It was apparently the home of a city notable.
