Indeed, restoration work on the city’s second most important and busiest bridge after the Rialto Bridge has finally come to an end: it took eleven months and a 1.7 million euro investment, fully funded by Luxottica Group. Before that, however, it will be the subject of a unique engineering masterpiece: the scaffolding that surrounds it, which was obviously necessary for the restoration, will be dismantled in just one night, between Friday and Saturday. The company Euroedile srl will employ forty technicians and workers who will work continuously from five in the afternoon to five in the morning to accomplish in twelve hours the work that would usually take a full twelve days. The entire operation is “Made in Veneto”: the restoration is being conducted by the firms Pasqualucci and Salmistrari, both from Venice, while Euroedile srl is a company from Treviso.

To allow scaffolding to be dismantled, pedestrian transit on the bridge will be interrupted on Saturday, August 25 from 00:15 to 9 a.m.

Other changes to water circulation will be adopted: see http://actv.avmspa.it/it/content/restauro-del-ponte-dell%E2%80%99accademia-sospensione-notturna-della-navigazione for information.
