After extensive genealogical research, the family tree of nanny photographer Vivian Maier was reconstructed.
Vivian Maier, the nanny photographer now known worldwide, did not marry or have children, but according to the latest genealogical research she would have had ten cousins still alive in the year of her death in 2009.
Following a lengthy three-year research effort, her family tree was reconstructed, spanning France, Slovakia, Austria and Hungary.
The cousins have approached the Cook County Probate Court in Illinois to find out if they are entitled to an inheritance.
They will have to wait until July 17, when the hearing was scheduled, to learn the truth.
