The Italian Federation of Photographic Associations is inaugurating Casa FIAF, a new space dedicated to photography spanning over 700 square meters in the Lingotto neighborhood of Turin. From December 4 to 7, 2026, there will be four days of celebrations to mark the inauguration.
Four days of events and gatherings to inaugurate a new space dedicated to photography: from December 4 to 7, 2026, Turin will celebrate the opening of FIAF House, the new headquarters of the Italian Federation of Photographic Associations (FIAF ETS). Located at Via Varaita 3/C in the Lingotto neighborhood, the facility occupies a three-story building with over 700 square meters of space and is designed to serve as a new cultural center open to the city, photography enthusiasts, and the world of photography. The initiative was launched with the goal of strengthening the bond between photography and the public, offering a place for gathering, research, and sharing. In a city that has made visual culture one of the defining elements of its identity, FIAF House aims to become an integral part of the urban fabric and a hub for the creation and dissemination of photography as an art form.
The new venue is designed as a dynamic space that will host exhibitions, cultural activities, and opportunities for discussion, fostering dialogue among photographers, citizens, institutions, and younger generations.
The opening of FIAF House will be accompanied by four days of celebrations, designed to engage the neighborhood and the photography community. At the heart of the initiative will be the photography exhibition *A Community of Gaze: Creative Visions from the Masters to the New Generations*, open to the public from December 4, 2026, to January 6, 2027, accompanied by a program featuring music, presentations, and social gatherings.
The schedule kicks off on Friday, December 4, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with an open house dedicated to the neighborhood: an opportunity to explore the new facility and discover the Federation’s spaces. On Saturday, December 5, at 6 p.m., the official presentation will take place, attended by officials and institutional representatives, to celebrate the opening of the new cultural center, while on Sunday, December 6, and Monday, December 7, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., FIAF House will open its doors to the public.
The history of the Italian Federation of Photographic Associations (FIAF) began right here in Turin on December 19, 1948, when eight photography clubs decided to join forces to create a network dedicated to the exchange of experiences, dialogue, and cultural growth. Since then, FIAF has maintained a steadfast commitment to promoting photography, advocating for its recognition as an independent form of creative expression and as a significant component of the visual arts landscape.
