LG Electronics has announced a partnership with the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York that will bring 100 works from the museum’s collection to LG televisions worldwide viathe LG Gallery+ app. The selection includes works spanning various periods of international art history, covering a time span of approximately 5,000 years.
Among the available works are Cézanne’s Still Life with Apples and a Vase of Primroses, Manet’s On the Beach and The Monet Family in the Garden at Argenteuil, Utagawa Hiroshige’s Seki, and Winslow Homer’s Northeaster. Users can select these works and view them directly on their TV, transforming their home screen into a space for digitally experiencing art.
LG Gallery+ is a service available on the webOS platform, versions 25 and later, that provides access to a collection of over 5,000 works. The collection also includes works by artists such as Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, and Georges Seurat, and is set to expand over time. A free “light” version of the service is available on LG TVs running webOS 25 and later, while access to the full version requires a subscription.
The display of the artworks is optimized for the features of LG TVs, particularly the LG OLED evo AI 2026 series. The LG OLED evo AI W6 model features an ultra-slim 9-millimeter profile, while the LG OLED evo AI G6 can be installed flush against the wall, designed to seamlessly integrate the screen into the home environment.
Contributing to the image quality are technologies such as Hyper Radiant Color Technology and Reflection Free Premium, designed to deliver intense, realistic colors, deep blacks, and a more uniform viewing experience even in very bright environments.
“Through LG Gallery+, users can select their favorite works from the Met’s collection and view them on a rotating basis, creating thematic curations that reflect their personal style, mood, and passion for art,” said Josh Romm, Head of Global Licensing and Partnerships at the Met. “In line with the Met’s mission to share the richness of its collections with the world, this initiative offers people the opportunity to discover and explore a universe of art and culture from the comfort of their own homes.”
“We are proud to partner with one of the world’s most renowned museums to further enrich the content available on LG Gallery+,” said Chris Jo, Head of the webOS Platform Business Center at LG Media Entertainment Solution. “Today, people from all over the world can experience the magic of the Met from the comfort of their own homes. Through this collaboration, we’re offering a new opportunity to engage with art and cultural history, while also stimulating creativity and curiosity.”
