The Museo Civico delle Cappuccine in Bagnacavallo (Ravenna) is reopening to the public following renovations to the cultural center’s facilities and is launching a new exhibition season dedicated to photography and contemporary art. The project brings together the work of various artists who have forged their own paths by focusing on the local landscape and their ability to observe everyday life. Curator Silvia Loddo defines this approach as “dialectal,” using the term to describe a language capable of nurturing both poetry and photography: a discreet gaze, attentive to the ordinary and its evocative potential.
The exhibition features photographs by Nicola Baldazzi, Veronica Lanconelli, Davide Baldrati, Cesare Ballardini, Michele Buda, Alessandra Dragoni, Cesare Fabbri, Marcello Galvani, Luca Gambi, Francesca Gardini, Gianluca Liverani, Francesco Neri, Luca Nostri, Francesco Raffaelli, and Giovanni Zaffagnini.
“In ponta d’pi. Officina romagnola” will remain open through January 10, 2027, at the Museo Civico delle Cappuccine. At the same time, from September 19 to November 8, 2026, the former Convent of San Francesco will host a solo exhibition by Chiara Calore (Abano Terme, 1994), titled *Non voltarti adesso* (*Don’t Turn Around Now*), curated by Milovan Farronato. The opening is scheduled for Saturday, September 19, at 6:00 p.m.
The exhibition’s title is a literal translation of *Don’t Look Now*, a film by Nicolas Roeg set in Venice, the city where the artist was raised. The cinematic reference, however, serves as the starting point for a reflection on perception and memory: the exhibition invites visitors to engage with images that seem to continually reemerge through allusions, variations, and overlaps.
The exhibition presents Chiara Calore’s pictorial universe, characterized by images that retain traces of other images and by a narrative constructed more through associations and intuitions than through a chronological progression. The exhibition catalog was conceived as a standalone editorial project, designed to convey the rhythm and atmosphere of the exhibition layout, going beyond the traditional function of mere documentation.
The solo exhibition will be open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Preceding the two September exhibitions will be the solo show *Ashes and Stars—The Terrible Miracle* by Giovanni Ruggiero, scheduled for August 29 through October 4, 2026, at the Chiesa del Suffragio. Curated by Davide Caroli and part of the Argillà Italia program, the exhibition will feature ceramics and installations by the artist from Fontanarosa (b. 1973), who won First Prize at the 57th Faenza Prize in 2011. International Competition for Contemporary Ceramic Art.
The works, created specifically for the space of the Chiesa del Suffragio, explore themes related to the human condition, its impulses, and its desires—which are seemingly difficult to reconcile.
