Dep Art Gallery focuses on color for its first exhibition of the restart

The Dep Art Gallery in Milan presents until July 31, 2020 the exhibition In the Matter of Color, which brings together about twenty works by Natale Addamiano, Alberto Biasi, Pino Pinelli, and Turi Simeti.

Curated by Matteo Galbiati, the exhibition focuses on color, particularly red, white, yellow, and blue, through which the artists develop their interpretations with different attitudes. The chromatic matter leads to four considerations that, traversing their personal histories and crossing the artistic-cultural events and happenings of the second half of the 20th century, project their reflection into the actuality of our time.

By Natale Addamiano, the starry skies tell of his passion for a traditional painting capable of transcending the very limits of the landscape.

Alberto Biasi ’s works are oriented toward a close relationship with the viewer: an active interaction, dynamic and renewed over time and in the different circumstances of viewing. Perceptions and movements, alterations or mutations, apparent or virtual, act as elements aimed at modifying the very structure of the work.

Since the late 1970s, Pino Pinelli ’s chromatic matter has evolved into a concrete act and acted in the environment: gesture and sign identify the artist’s primary tensions. In his painting, he deflagrates to the extreme the act of breaking and winning the unity of the painting.

Turi Simeti has elected a primary element as the multiplying sign of his artistic action, safeguarding the identity of his personal analytical intuition: the oval. In him, too, pictorial action is defined as a concrete fact that brings the absolute silence of monochrome drafts to meet the value and sense of object physicality not only sensed conceptually, but experienced with rhythm on the painting.
