In Bologna, Francesco Bartoli and Massimiliano Moro present the Visible-Invisible project.

From Jan. 31 to Feb. 3, 2019, as part of SetUp Contemporary Art Fair, artists Francesco Bartoli and Massimiliano Moro present the project Visibile - Invisibile, co-curated by Anna de Fazio Siciliano. In the guise of a never-before-seen preview and with a first site-specific work, the exhibition project will be part of the special projects section, as it has been selected among the five off project works of the 2019 Bologna kermesse. As an anticipation, the exhibition will be developed later in depth to flow into the vast cultural project of Without Frontiers - Lunetta a Colori, the Mantua-based urban redevelopment operation curated by Simona Gavioli (artistic director of SetUp Contemporary Art Fair), which again this year for the fourth time will see the light of day in June.

Bartoli and Moro’s intent is to unite in a poetic artistic dialogue their vision and research because, in the creative universe of the two, many things have the flavor of the unexpected, of the encounter with something visibly ethereal and invisibly concrete: a sculptural light that chases matter and pushes beyond the boundaries of the exhibition format or a sheet of paper that registers every nuance of the dust of everyday life. Attentive to the mutations of the things around them, their research is meant to be a way of capturing the fleetingness of time through equally elusive and ephemeral images. The theme the exhibition focuses on (and through which the two will create their dialogue) is landscape and its boundary. What defines a landscape today? What are its poetic, political, metaphorical and human boundaries? These are the questions Bartoli and Moro will try to artistically answer.

The project, conceived as a “journey under the skin, under the surface of things,” is a visual journey in which Moro’s lights/shadows and Bartoli’s paper, will intersect (sometimes merging) to trace a series of metaphorical and changing landscapes, whose tension is to deepen and redraw the idea of contemporary landscape.

The installation will be on view during the days of SetUp Contemporary Art Fair. At this link all the information.
