Vivian Maier has worked as a nanny since the early 1950s for over forty years. Her entire life was spent in anonymity until 2007, when her photographic corpus came to light. A legacy consisting of more than 120 thousand negatives, super 8 and 16mm film, sound recordings and hundreds of undeveloped rolls of film. A pioneer of street photography. In the shots on display, one will see the second half of the 20th century through the eyes and in the eyes of an icon in the history of photography.

Her immense photographic heritage, discovered by pure chance only through the fortuitous discovery by the American journalist John Maloof, transports the viewer among the streets and people of the U.S. metropolises, to discover the world of childhood that she knew very well, and in particular to get to know “Miss Viv” through the self-portraits with which the author seems to seek a place in the world.
