At the MART in Rovereto from April 21 to August 26, 2018, the exhibition Viaggio in Italia. Nineteenth-Century Landscapes from the Macchiaioli to the Symbolists.

"Journey in Italy. Nineteenth-Century Landscapes from the Macchiaioli to the Symbolists": this is the exhibition that will be hosted in the exhibition halls of the Mart in Rovereto from April 21 to August 26, 2018.

The exhibition, curated by Alessandra Tiddia, presents to the public a century of art in the depiction of landscape and its effects of light and color: from the Posillipo School to the landscapes of the soul of the Symbolist tendency to the experience of the Tuscan Macchiaioli.

The evolution of landscape painting from the simple view to the more complex and subjective vision will be highlighted.

Nineteenth-century painting was often devoted to the depiction of panoramas of the Bel Paese, a favorite destination for European travelers embarking on the traditional Grand Tour.

Along the exhibition route, visitors will admire works by Bezzi, Ciardi, De Nittis, Fattori, Fragiacomo, Gigante, Lega and Signorini.
