Rodin and Arp's most iconic works on display at Fondation Beyeler

The Fondation Beyeler is hosting the Rodin/Arp exhibition from December 13, 2020 to May 16, 2021: displaying the most iconic works of the two artists.

Announced by Fondation Beyeler the new exhibition to be mounted in the spaces of its exhibition venue from December 13, 2020 to May 16, 2021: Rodin/Arp.

For the first time as part of a museum exhibition, Auguste Rodin and Hans Arp will be placed in dialogue: the great innovator of late 19th-century sculpture will meet 20th-century abstract sculpture. Rodin and Arp are both characterized byinnovative art that tends toward experimentation: Rodin introduced innovative ideas and new artistic possibilities regarding sculpture, which Arp took up and then developed and reinterpreted in his own way according to his biomorphic forms.

The exhibition will present about 110 works from international museums and private collections, bringing together many iconic works by the two artists. Also featured will be sculptures, reliefs and works on paper that have rarely been exhibited until now. Among the most iconic works are Rodin’s The Thinker and the Kiss, and Ptolemy and Arp’s Torso.

The exhibition is conceived by Fondation Beyeler, in collaboration with Arp Museum Rolandseck and is organized in partnership with the Musée Rodin in Paris.
