A call for proposals to train 50 young people free of charge to become culture and heritage managers

Lottomatica and LUISS in Rome launch 'Generation Culture,' a call for proposals to train 50 young culture managers for free.

Lottomatica, in collaboration with the Business School of the LUISS - Libera Università Internazionale di Studi Sociali “Guido Carli” in Rome, has launched the fourth edition of Generazione cultura, a call for applications to train fifty young graduates, aged no more than 27, in the areas of culture: in particular, the call aims to train managerial figures to deal with the enhancement of cultural heritage. Objectives of the training are to understand the management and organizational dynamics of the arts and culture system, to build concrete situations that allow participants to get a thorough understanding of the culture system, and to develop planning and entrepreneurial skills to develop new business ideas in the culture sector.

The program consists of 200 hours of classes on the topics of digital cultural heritage, marketing for art and culture, culture entrepreneurship, and cultural project management. Upon completion of the classes, the young people will do traininginternships at cultural institutions for a duration of six months. The classroom training will last six weeks, from November to December 2019, then the internships will take place between January and June 2020: a follow up (in July 2020) will follow, with the aim of measuring and evaluating the effectiveness of the training both on the level of knowledge of the topics covered and the impact they had on the work behaviors experienced during the internship.

To apply, one must have Italian, San Marino or Vatican City nationality, hold a bachelor’s degree, be up to 27 years old, and have a good knowledge of English (which will be evaluated during the selection process). The first skim will be made on the basis of the curriculum: there will then be a maximum of 320 admitted who will take an English proficiency test and a test measuring verbal, mathematical and logical skills. Candidates who pass the first selection (maximum 220) will undergo a motivational interview: this will result in 50 candidates being admitted to the courses. For the 50 young people who will be trained, Lottomatica will provide a scholarship of three thousand euros. Applications must be submitted by September 30.
