IULM Kicks Off the 17th Edition of the Master's Program in Management of Artistic and Cultural Resources

IULM University, in partnership with Fondazione Roma, presents the 2026/2027 edition of the master’s program: eight thematic modules, three- to six-month internships, 60 academic credits, and 30 scholarships to train the next generation of cultural professionals.

The Master’s Program in Management of Artistic and Cultural Resources, organized by IULM University in collaboration with Fondazione Roma, is set to begin its 17th edition, maintaining the educational framework introduced in the 2025–2026 academic year. The structure of the previous edition has proven effective in responding to the profound transformations currently taking place in the world of art and culture: digital transition, sustainability, inclusion, participation, and new forms of cultural planning now require flexible and multidisciplinary skills capable of interpreting the contemporary world through innovative tools and strategic vision. The program aims to train a new generation of cultural professionals capable of combining humanities knowledge with economic, managerial, organizational, and communication skills. The Master’s program is designed for graduates with a background in the humanities, social sciences, economics, or law who are interested in developing a professional profile that enables them to work effectively in key cultural sectors: museums, foundations, public agencies, creative enterprises, festivals, arts institutions, associations, research centers, and specialized communications agencies.

The 2026–2027 program is structured around eight thematic modules that address, through an interdisciplinary and applied approach, the key elements of artistic and cultural resource management: governance and legislation, management and organization, heritage promotion, cultural planning, sustainability, digital innovation, marketing, communication, and business English. These modules are complemented by workshops, seminars, and opportunities for direct interaction with industry professionals, as well as a group project that allows students to gain hands-on experience in the conception and organization of a cultural event curated by the entire class. The program also includes a curricular internship lasting between three and six months, to be carried out at museums, foundations, or public or private organizations selected from among the leading Italian and international cultural institutions.

Classes are held at the IULM campus in Rome from January through July 2027, with mandatory attendance three days a week—on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The curriculum includes over 450 hours of classroom instruction, for a total of 1,500 hours, required to earn 60 university credits. At the end of the program, students will take an individual final exam.

One of the program’s distinctive features is the composition of its faculty, which includes university professors, industry experts, museum directors, cultural consultants, and professionals active in the field. This network of contacts and collaborations provides significant added value for students’ entry into the workforce, thanks to the opportunity to complete internships in stimulating professional settings aligned with their career aspirations.

The Master’s program has limited enrollment: for the 2026–2027 academic year, there will be a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 35 participants, selected based on their academic credentials and an individual motivational interview. The tuition fee is 3,500 euros.

Thanks to the support of the Fondazione Roma, 30 scholarships are available, including 20 that fully cover the tuition fee and 10 that provide partial coverage, amounting to 2,500 euros. Scholarships will be awarded based on the candidates’ merit and motivation, with an age limit set at 40.

The Master’s Program in Management of Artistic and Cultural Resources has consistently proven itself, year after year, to be an educational experience of excellence for those who wish to invest in their professional future in the cultural sector: a dynamic laboratory of ideas, skills, and relationships, designed to prepare participants to tackle the challenges of the present and the opportunities of the future with awareness, creativity, and responsibility.
