Paestum, a solidarity dinner at the museum to help Telethon and children's genetic disease research

The National Archaeological Museum of Paestum is organizing a solidarity dinner in which everyone can participate, to help the Telethon fundraiser.

An invitation to dinner at the National Archaeological Museum of Paestum to support Telethon ’s research and fundraising for children suffering from rare genetic diseases: this is what the Archaeological Park of Paestum and the Telethon Battipaglia section are addressing to everyone for Saturday, January 12, at 8 p.m. In fact, a solidarity dinner will be held in the Museum with the aim of helping Telethon raise funds. Also participating in the evening will be researchers Cristina Sorrentino and Carmine Spampinato from Tigem - Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine in Pozzuoli, a cutting-edge center for Telethon research on genetic diseases.

The reasons for the initiative were explained by the director of the Paestum Archaeological Park, Gabriel Zuchtriegel: “the museum by definition is a place that also deals with research: supporting those who promote scientific research is for us, therefore, a moral commitment that we cannot shirk. The museum will be ready to welcome guests for this special occasion and will make its contribution to the success of the initiative.”

Virginia Polisciano, deputy provincial Telethon coordinator and head of the Battipaglia section, expresses satisfaction: “I was immensely happy to have found the support of director Gabriel Zuchtriegel for this laudable initiative. The Paestum museum is a prestigious showcase to raise awareness for research. Unfortunately, medicine cannot make any progress unless it is supported by those financial contributions that Telethon, precisely, has been committed to collecting for years.”

To attend, reservations must be made by Jan. 8 (reservations are required) by sending an email to Virginia Polisciano (virginia.polisciano@libero.it) or by calling 335 6730695 or 338 9215480. The contribution required to attend the evening is 30 euros. In addition to the dinner, it will be possible to participate in a guided tour of the museum collections by museum staff.
