Pesaro, Ducal Palace joins city museum circuit and will be open to visitors from June

The Ducal Palace in Pesaro has joined the city's museum circuit and will be accessible with free guided tours starting June 12.

The Ducal Palace in Pesaro has officially entered the city’s museum circuit thanks to an agreement between the Prefecture of Pesaro and Urbino, the Agenzia del Demanio, the Soprintendenza Archeologia, Belle Arti e Paesaggio delle Marche-Ancona and the Municipality of Pesaro, in order to enhance the value of the palace, home of the Prefecture, and to relaunch Pesaro’s candidacy as Italian Capital of Culture 2024.

A plan will be put in place to promote the Ducal Palace as the city’s symbolic monument, and the first step consists of a calendar of free guided tours, starting June 12, that will allow the public to access the Metaurense hall, the Genga loggia, the reception halls, the courtyard of honor, the hunting courtyard and the secret garden.

Two tours are planned: the full tour (lasting an hour and a half) scheduled every Saturday morning and the reduced tour (lasting 45 minutes) scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

It is managed by Sistema Museo and the visit is a free benefit included in the Pesaro Musei ticket valid for Palazzo Mosca-Musei Civici, Museo Nazionale Rossini, Casa Rossini and archaeological area of Via dell’Abbondanza. Tours will be given by licensed guides with regional licenses. Full information on times and how to book will be provided soon.
