Pitti Palace joins the Association of European Royal Residences

Palazzo Pitti, a Florentine palace part of the Uffizi Galleries museum complex, officially joins theAssociation of European Royal Residences (ARRE). Submitted just a few weeks ago, the application was immediately accepted. The Association of European Royal Residences is an international organization that has been active since 1995 and to which some of Europe’s most important palaces, castles and royal palaces belong. The aim of the association is to protect and enhance these cultural assets by organizing scientific, educational and promotional activities and collaborations with other entities.

“This is excellent news,” commented Uffizi director Simone Verde. “Now we will be able with even greater effectiveness to make synergy with the sister palaces of the Pitti Palace, under the banner of the greatness of our common European history.”
