Cinemas and theaters, artists and workers launch petition asking not to close them down

From Cristina Comencini to Claudio Bisio, from Dori Ghezzi to Aldo Giovanni e Giacomo: artists and entertainment workers are launching a petition asking not to close cinemas and theaters.

A group of artists and show business workers (including Cristina Comencini, Angela Finocchiaro, Dori Ghezzi, Aldo Giovanni e Giacomo, Claudio Bisio, Neri Marcorè, Silvio Soldini and many others) have launched a petition on change.org addressed to Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and Minister of Cultural Heritage Dario Franceschini to ask them not to close cinemas and theaters: the new dpcm approved today, in fact, established the closure of all theaters until November 24. Below is the text of the petition (which can be signed by going to change.org).

"President of the Council of Ministers Prof. Giuseppe Conte,
Honorable Dario Franceschini Minister of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism,

We are a group of workers in the performing arts and culture, and in a loud voice we demand that cinemas and theaters, principals, in which all sanitary and hygienic safety standards are guaranteed, from seat tracking to sanitization, temperature control and the use of mandatory masks, should not be closed.
We pose these conditions beyond all the evaluations and implications that this additional lockout entails for the entire sector and for the meaning and value that culture must have in our country."
