First edition of Aria di masseria: culture and food and wine in Puglia's educational farms

Lots of cultural and food and wine initiatives in Puglia's educational farms: the first edition of Aria di Masseria kicks off.

The first edition of"Aria di Masseria," an initiative supported by the Regional Agriculture Department in which more than forty companies from the network of Apulian Educational Farms participate.

An event that was held on August 4 and will be repeated onSeptember 1, 2018: educational workshops, music, exhibitions, dances, theatrical performances and food and wine tastings concentrated in a single day.

Councillor for Agri-food Policies of the Apulia Region, Leonardo di Gioia, said, “Agribusiness, wine and food traditions, nature, and landscape are distinctive traits of our region and levers of development that complement and enhance each other. This summer 2018’s initiative in the regional Masserie is an opportunity to attract tourists and stimulate incoming tourism, but also a strategy that as a region we support to enhance the activity of our producers and promote the consumption of zero-kilometer products and certified by the Puglia quality brand. Educational farms are garrisons of ancient traditions and living museums of our rural civilization, intact places where harvesting, production or breeding techniques are handed down from father to son. Places where food education is promoted and rural culture is recovered.”
