For Forest. In Austria, a forest in a soccer field.

In September and October 2019, the stadium in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee, Carinthia, Austria, will be transformed into a forest by Klaus Littmann.

Atemporary installation will be created by Klaus Littmann in September and October 2019 at the stadium in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee, Carinthia, Austria: a real forest will be created inside the playing field. From the stands, spectators will see the trees where soccer players generally play.

Based on a design by Austrian artist Max Peintner, Littman will create his installation titled For Forest, which will put Austria’s most modern stadium in the spotlight, causing discussion.

The project will consist of about three hundred trees that will be planted in the soccer field to transform it into a typical Central European forest. Upon completion of the temporary installation, the forest will be transplanted to a public place in the Austrian city, where it will be visible in a permanent location. The aim of the For Forest project, the largest public artwork in Austria, is to raise awareness of the issues ofecology andartificiality.

The stadium will be open free of charge from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
