33 percent increase on the Colosseum Archaeological Park ticket: fromNovember 1, 2019, the Basic ticket, valid for one day, which allows you to visit the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine will cost 16 euros instead of 12 euros. Also introduced is the new Super ticket with the possibility to visit Roman Forum, Palatine and Super sites (from the House of Augustus to Santa Maria Antiqua) and the Full Experience ticket (costing 22 euros and lasting two days) with which one can access Colosseum, Arena, Forum, Palatine and Super sites.

This was announced by the director of the Colosseum Archaeological Park, Alfonsina Russo, who said, “In the last twenty years the growth has been constant until it has reached maximum capacity levels: the monument for security reasons cannot accommodate more than 3,000 visitors at the same time. The Colosseum Park is the fourth most visited cultural site in the world, ahead of only the Louvre, the Great Wall of China, and the Beijing National Museum, and it is Italy’s biggest cultural attractor, ranking first in terms of number of visitors.”

Over the past decade, the Colosseum has been visited by as many as 60 million people.
