Mucciaccia Gallery in Rome has launched HeARTbid, an online charity auction in support of the Italian Red Cross

Rome ’s Mucciaccia Gallery has launched HeARTbid, an online charity auction in support of the Italian Red Cross medical emergency.

International artists auctioned off one of their works at 50 percent of list value, and the entire proceeds will be donated to charity. “A way to do solidarity, but also to benefit collectors. Works of art, as we know, have always survived wars, famines, and times of world crisis and are often identified as a safe haven asset even with respect to the collapse of markets,” said Massimiliano Mucciaccia.

Twenty-six artists are involved and twenty-six works are for sale: Valerio Adami, Roberto Bernardi, James Busby, Ian Davenport, Jiri Dokoupil, Ben Edwards, Giosetta Fioroni, Rossella Fumasconi, Massimo Giannoni, Lothar Goetz, Hisao Hanfusa, Frank Holliday, Daniel Jouseff, Ria Lussi, Milo Manara, Gianfranco Meggiato, Roberto Miniati, Gianni Piacentino, Cristiano Pintaldi, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Piero Pizzi Cannella, Oliviero Rainaldi, Tom Sanford, Kwangho Shin, Raphaella Spence, Llewellyn Xavier.

Among the works featured is Science and Knowledge by sculptor Gianfranco Meggiato, a perfect sphere within a biomorphic lattice indicating the paths and difficulties of life.

At www.mucciaccia.com, in the HeARTbid section, you can see all the works in the auction, which can be entered until May 3.
