MiBACT has purchased the Richard Ginori Museum

The Richard Ginori Museum at the Doccia Factory in Sesto Fiorentino has been purchased by the Ministry of Culture: part of the company's revitalization project.

The Richard Ginori Museum of the Doccia Factory in Sesto Fiorentino has been purchased by MiBACT for 700,000 euros.

The museum houses one of Europe ’s earliest ceramic and porcelain factories and is the oldest business museum in Europe.

After the company went bankrupt, it is now in a state of neglect: the purchase by MiBACT is part of a revitalization project.
Minister of Cultural Heritage Dario Franceschini said, “The Ginori museum will enter fully into the national system of museums that will be responsible for its protection and enhancement. We have worked silently to safeguard an exceptional collection that is a fundamental part of Italy’s cultural heritage.”
Within 120 days, the museum’s collections and exhibits will also be transferred to MiBACT.

The Richard Ginori museum will thus become part of the Polo Museale della Toscana.
