A free, digital platform brings together all of Van Gogh's works

Van Gogh Worldwide, the new, continuously updated digital platform that brings together all of Van Gogh's works in a way that is accessible to all.

Accessible to all for free is the new digital platform that brings together all of Vincent van Gogh’s art, Van Gogh Worldwide. The artist created about two thousand works over the course of his troubled existence, and the intent of the new online space is to present all his works in a simple way so that the public can understand the stages of his life and painting.

Van Gogh Worldwide is a work in progress, constantly being updated. So far, all works found in the Netherlands have been included: over a thousand paintings and works on paper. From 2021, works kept in other countries around the world will also be introduced. The platform was made possible thanks to the collaboration of numerous partners, including museums, private collectors, and institutions, in particular it is due to a collaborative project between RKD - Netherlands Institute for Art History, Van Gogh Museum, and Kröller-Müller Museum.

Van Gogh Worldwide is not intended as an authorized catalog raisonnĂ© of Van Gogh’s works, but consists of continuously updated data on his artistic activity, including drawings and sketches contained in his letters, works rediscovered since 1970, and technical aspects of his painting. The source for the database is the publication by J.B de la Faille, The Works of Vincent van Gogh. His Paintings and Drawings, 1970.

Within the platform, the works are divided by period and category, and each work is accompanied by its essential fact sheet.
