Over the years, September 1 has become a global event for Harry Potter fans: it is the day when, in the saga, the young wizards arrive at Platform 9¾ at London’s King’s Cross Station to board the Hogwarts Express and begin a new school year. Artificial fog, spells from the movies, and a path lined with original props recreated the saga’s universe: from the Sorting Hat to Harry’s glasses, including wands, philosopher’s stones, Chocolate Frogs, and caramel popcorn. Also on display were 1:1-scale replicas of Harry and his owl Hedwig, made from nearly 17,000 Lego bricks.
The island’s church, decorated with other elements related to the saga, hosted the Italian Film Orchestra, which performed music from *Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone* (2001). The film was then screened outdoors, preceded by 12 minutes of previously unseen behind-the-scenes footage showing the young cast members during production, including lead actor Daniel Radcliffe.
