Art reinterpreted through dance: in the Park of the Royal Palace of Caserta, the multidisciplinary project

In the Park of the Royal Palace of Caserta, the multidisciplinary project combining visual arts and performance dance: "Mechanics of Wonder in Motion." Installations by contemporary artists to which contemporary dance performance activities will be combined.

From Nov. 19 to Dec. 8, 2022, the Reggia di Caserta is hosting Mechanics of Wonder in Motion, a multidisciplinary project that combines visual arts and performance dance and is part of the participatory enhancement call.

The exhibition, which is directed by theMeccaniche della Meraviglia Association, aims to give visibility to new generations through the collaboration of already established artists and a reinterpretation of the installations with music and the movement of the body of dancers. The exhibition will be set up in the Old Woods, inside the Castelluccia, in the heart of the Park of the Royal Palace of Caserta: it will feature two installations by contemporary artists, which will be combined with contemporary dance performance activities.

The artists involved are Albano Morandi with the installation Fiori assenti and Bizhan Bassiri with the video installation Il Bisonte and music by Stefano Taglietti. For each of these installations, a performance by contemporary dance collective YoY Performing Arts titled Dialogues with Art will be presented on Nov. 19 at 6 p.m. at the Upper Vestibule of the Reggia di Caserta, offering a kind of interpretation of the work through movement, with original music by Timoteo Carbone. YoY Performing Arts will also perform a show inspired by Medhat Shafik’s opera Palmyra. The event stems from the desire to create a dialogue between different artistic disciplines.

Participation in the initiative is part of the ordinary cost of the ticket/subscription to the Royal Palace of Caserta.
