It is Mirror No. 18 (2022) by Silvia Giambrone, presented by the Richard Saltoun Gallery (London, Rome, New York), the winning work of the third edition of the BPER Prize, awarded on the occasion of Arte Fiera Bologna. Also this year BPER Banca confirms its role as main partner of the event, for the third consecutive year. The winning work, acquired by La Galleria, will thus become part of BPER Banca’s corporate collection, enriching the section dedicated to contemporary art. The artist and the selected work will also benefit from greater visibility through participation in exhibition projects promoted by La Galleria BPER in its various venues.

The BPER Prize is in fact an award aimed at theacquisition of a work of contemporary art and was created with the aim of promoting and enhancing female talent and empowerment. The prize represents further evidence of the BPER Group’s commitment to raising public awareness, through art and culture, on issues of great social relevance, including inclusion, the enhancement of female talent and empowerment processes.

The jury of the BPER Prize 2026, composed of Sabrina Bianchi, Head of BPER’s Brand & Marketing Communication and Cultural Heritage Service, Daniela Ferrari, art historian and museum curator, and Lara Conte, professor of Contemporary Art History at Roma Tre University, unanimously decided to award the prize to Mirror n.18 (2022) by Silvia Giambrone. The artist distinguished herself for an intense and determined research focused on the complex relationships between body, violence, power, subjectivity and self-determination. Her poetics, aimed at bringing out the latency of values and behaviors that elude respect, is developed through multiple languages, at the same time refined and incisive, capable of engaging the audience and stimulating a reflection on the themes of inclusion, valorization of gender differences and social issues read from a female perspective, fully in line with the instances promoted by the BPER Prize.

The jury also decided to give a special mention to the work Notturni n. 147 (2025) by Silvia Inselvini, presented by Galleria Atipografia. The artist’s research is based on writing that is transformed into a chromatic surface through a patient and repeated gesture, investigating the temporal dimension of art making. With this recognition, BPER Gallery intends to support the path of a young artist. This work will also enter the corporate collection of BPER Bank.
