Two side events have been organized for the major Modigliani exhibition in Livorno. Modì's places and the works that scandalized at the Berthe Weill Gallery.

On the occasion of the major exhibition Modigliani and the Montparnasse Adventure. Masterpieces from the Netter and Alexandre Collections, set up at the Museum of the City of Livorno and open until Feb. 16, 2020, collateral events have been organized.

From February 1 to 16, 2020, the Biblioteca dei Bottini dell’Olio will host the photo(bio)graphic project entitled Modigliani, places between Livorno and Paris by Luca Dal Canto, which has already been exhibited with great success in various Italian cities and in Strasbourg(www.iluoghidimodigliani.com). The project is enriched with new places and photographs, as well as the use of multimedia tools. 47 places, where Modigliani lived and worked, depicted in Dal Canto’s shots as they are today. The review, between documentary and reportage, presents each photograph linked to a story from the artist’s life. The event is sponsored by the Franco Ferrucci Cultural Association with the patronage and co-participation of the City of Livorno. Free admission

On Thursday, Feb. 13, the event Modigliani. Paris December 1917. An exhibition that scandalized, curated by Umberto Falchini and Maurizio Mini. The initiative, promoted by the Francesco Ferrucci Cultural Association in collaboration with Erasmo Libri and under the patronage of the Municipality of Livorno, will feature an exhibition and projection, with commentary, of reproductions of the works that scandalized at the Berthe Weill Gallery ’s Paris exhibition due to the presence of nudes in the window. Before the screening, actors Riccardo de Francesca and Eleonora Zacchi of the Il Grattacielo Art Center will read excerpts from Berthe Weill’s memoir about what happened outside the Gallery between Weill herself and the police commissioner. Free admission.
