The fourth edition of ARF! Festival from May 25 to 27


From May 25 to 27, 2018 comes the fourth edition of “ARF! Festival of Stories, Signs and Drawings,” which will be held in the spaces of the Slaughterhouse in Rome.
There are six exhibitions on the bill during the three-day festival, featuring: Alessandro Barbucci, cartoonist for Disney Italy, co-creator of W.I.T.C.H., Monster Allergy and Sky Doll and author of the ARF! 2018; Spaniard Jordi Bernet with “The Good, the Beautiful and the Bad” dedicated to Tex, the very sensual protagonists of his comics(Chiara di Notte, Sarvan, Custer, Cicca) and the gangster Torpedo; Croatian Danijel Zezelj, visionary talent of this end of the millennium (also for Marvel, DC Comics, Vertigo and Image) with “Black Oxygen”; and Francesco Guarnaccia ’s (winner of the 2017 Bartoli Award) solo exhibition “There are some strange things in this realm.”

There will also be an exhibition dedicated to the original plates of Will Eisner, the “father” of the modern graphic novel, which will take place at CArt Gallery at 61 Via del Gesù from May 12 to June 6, 2018, created by CArt Gallery in collaboration with ARF!, which together will publish ARFBOOK, the catalog of all 2018 exhibitions.

On Friday, May 25, there will be the opening of the exclusive exhibition "Andrea Pazienza, thirty years without," the major exhibition that - in the year of the thirtieth anniversary of his death - celebrates and finally brings together the artistic legacy and the entire oeuvre of the most eclectic and brilliant Italian cartoonist of all time (an ARF!/Comicon co-production, from May 25 to July 15, 2018).

Meetings, masterclasses and lectio magistralis are also planned with authors of the caliber of Leo Ortolani, Giacomo Bevilacqua, Zerocalcare, Gipi among the Italians, but also big international names. Also back is the appointment with ARF!Kids, a series of creative workshops for children (free admission up to age 12) curated by some of Italy’s most renowned illustrators, read alouds, drawings, games and many books available to all.
