Art emergencies: five contemporary artists in dialogue in Sannio for Imago Murgantia

From August 9 to 19, 2019, the appointment with Imago Murgantia is renewed, the exhibition that animates the village of Morcone (Benevento) during the period of Ferragosto: this year, the review, which takes place in the Auditorium of the Sannio town, is titled Artistic Emergencies, is curated by Azzurra Immediato and Massimo Mattioli and features five contemporary artists: Ilaria Abbiento, Anuar Arebi, Gino D’Ugo, Giovanni Gaggia and Anna Rosati.

Five visions from five dialoguing artists, following the lines of our time, both from a conceptual and a tangible point of view: the exhibition intends to weave a plot that looks at a vast, deep, infinite discussion, like the sea, like the human soul, like what “emerges” and what, at the same time, is alarming and prompts reflection. Thus, the subject of the exhibition is our history, which becomes a perceptible trace through photography, video, installations and performances that, in their intrinsic value, animate a dialogue with an ancient place, whose identity has been uniquely overwhelmed by modernity, namely the church of San Bernardino, which has now become an Auditorium.

The exhibition, sponsored by the Municipality of Morcone, together with the Pro Loco Murgantia, can be visited daily from 6 to 11 p.m. In the morning visits by appointment. Free admission. For info (also for appointments and guided tours): 347 9472408. Imago Murgantia is sponsored by Dimensione Srl of Roberto Padulo.
