Art meets mountains and climbs to an altitude of 2,101 meters with the ninth stage of DISPLAY, the project promoted by Fondazione Caritro (Cassa di Risparmio di Trento e Rovereto) to enhance and make accessible to the public its art collection. This time the route lands at the Doss del Sabion refuge in Pinzolo (Trento), in the heart of the Brenta Dolomites, where a new theme park that interweaves art and nature has just been inaugurated. An initiative that brings the Foundation’s works to high altitudes, placing them in an extraordinary landscape context, capable of transforming itself into a living work of art.
Doss del Sabion, known for its views ranging from the Brenta Dolomites to Adamello, thus becomes a privileged setting for an unprecedented dialogue between creativity and the alpine landscape. Fondazione Caritro, welcomed by Funivie di Pinzolo and Doss alpin style, with the collaboration of the Azienda per il Turismo di Madonna di Campiglio and under the patronage of the Municipality of Pinzolo, proposes an experience that is not limited to the exhibition, but invites to slow down the pace and experience the mountain as a place of contemplation.
DISPLAY was created with the aim of publicizing and sharing the artistic heritage of Fondazione Caritro, consisting of more than 300 works by about 100 artists. A heritage that, after the publication of a paper catalog, has been digitized and made accessible through a searchable and interactive archive. Each stage of the project is an opportunity to bring art closer to the territory, creating links with the places and communities that inhabit it.
At the Doss del Sabion, the official opening took place on Thursday, August 7, at 4 p.m., and the display will remain open until September 14. During this period, visitors have the opportunity not only to observe the works, but also to actively participate in the path, choosing the ones that strike them most and thus building a personal catalog to take with them to the valley. It is a way to bring the public closer to curatorial practice, turning everyone into the protagonist of a personal dialogue with art.
The experience is designed for everyone, with no age limit. Even children are invited to interact with the works and have fun with colors, experiencing creativity like the artists. In this way, art becomes not only contemplation but also play, learning and a chance to express themselves freely.
The new theme park at Doss del Sabion is not just a container of works, but a place where art and nature reflect each other. The mountains, forests and views become an integral part of the exhibition route, suggesting a continuity between the beauty of the landscapes and that of the artistic creations. A dialogue that allows us to discover how the inspiration of artists often came precisely from the observation of nature and how it still manages to excite and stimulate reflection.
The display is accessible daily from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm with free admission. In addition, on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, accompanied tours are provided without the need for reservations. For groups, however, a customized guided tour can be arranged.
The ninth stage of DISPLAY confirms the project as an established reality in the Trentino cultural scene, capable of dialoguing with different audiences and adapting to heterogeneous contexts. Fondazione Caritro’s collection of more than 300 works thus finds new ways of fruition, renewing the relationship between heritage and community.
